1What the app is
Sotto IPTV Player is a media player that plays the streams in an M3U or Xtream Codes source the user adds. It offers no channel, film, series or playlist of its own and has no partnership with any provider. It does not record, download, convert or redistribute streams. It sells no streaming subscription; the only thing we sell is the account features that turn on sync. The demo list offered to people without a source is public test material and nothing else.
2Your responsibility
- Making sure you are entitled to the source you add, and that using it follows the law where you are, is up to you.
- What happens between you and your provider (payment, content, outages) is not our responsibility.
- You may not use the app for any unlawful purpose, copyright infringement included.
3Account and sync
- An account is optional. Playback works fully without one.
- If you open an account, keeping your sign-in safe is up to you, and you must not share the account with someone else.
- With sync, your source definitions (the password included) are kept encrypted on our server. The key lives in the server's environment, so this is not end-to-end encryption. The detail, and how to turn it off per source, are on the privacy page.
- We may suspend an account that abuses the service (for example by loading the server automatically).
4Price, subscription and trial
| Playback | Free. Adding a source, live channels, films and series, search, the programme guide, audio and subtitle selection, Picture in Picture, AirPlay and Google Cast are never charged for. |
|---|---|
| Account features (Premium) | Sync between devices, device management and a backup tied to the account are opened by a subscription of 9.99 USD a year. What you pay is the amount the App Store or Google Play sets for that price tier in your country, taxes included. |
| 3 months free on a new account | Those months come from us, not from the store, and no payment details are asked to start them. When they end, the account features switch off and do not turn into a paid subscription. Buying is entirely your choice. |
| Automatic renewal and cancelling | A subscription you buy is yearly and renews automatically unless you cancel before the period ends. You cancel in the account settings of the store you bought it in; the service stays open until the end of the period. Purchase, refunds and billing follow that store's rules; we do not take the payment. |
| When a subscription ends | Sync stops. The sources on your device, your list and your resume positions keep working as before. Data on the server is deleted as stated in the privacy policy. |
| If the price changes | You are told before a renewal, as the store's rules require. |
| Today | The subscription is not on sale yet. Nothing is charged during the beta. |
5The beta
Beta versions (the iPhone and iPad builds on TestFlight and the Android file on this site) are for testing. There can be faults, unexpected closures and data loss; features may change or be removed; the beta may end at any time. iPhone and iPad beta builds follow TestFlight's rules and stop working 90 days after they are distributed.
6Warranty and limits
The app is provided “as is”. No warranty is given that it will run without interruption or fault. To the extent the applicable law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage arising from its use. Your rights under consumer law are unaffected.
7Open source components
For MPEG-TS playback the app links VideoLAN's VLCKit library (LGPL-2.1 or later) separately and dynamically. The Android TV build uses FFmpeg (LGPL-2.1 or later) for MP2 audio; FFmpeg is linked statically into a separate shared library inside the APK (libffmpegJNI.so). We place no restriction on your right to obtain and modify those libraries' source. Every component and its licence text is listed in the app's “About and licences” screen; versions, source links and build settings are on the Open source page.
